We're so excited to announce that Mavka Theatre's Moonshine, a play performed at the Edmonton Fringe Festival that not only had a SOLD OUT RUN, but was also part of the Fringe Theatre Holdover Series, will be performed at the Carvel Hall on 18 October 2025!
Come enjoy brilliant storytelling and music by playwright and performer Larissa Poho, inspired by trips to Ukraine and life experience.
Poho performs with an exceptionally talented cast.

HELP & HOPE for UKRAINE - June 16, 2022
The Carvel Ukrainian Cultural Society partnered with the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Stony Plain and Spruce Grove Rotary Clubs to host a fundraiser 16 June 2022 to support Ukrainian Nationals who have been displaced from the war and devastation that is taking place in Ukraine. As the humanitarian crisis continues to grow, and the number of refugees and displaced people increases, more individuals and families will locate in Alberta and in our region.
All net proceeds from the event will remain in the region and will assist Ukrainian Nationals - many who escaped with few personal belongings and have little money or cannot access finances. Thank you for supporting our efforts by attending the event, through sponsorship and/or financial donations.

St Nicholas Party and Christmas Celebration
Please join us on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 6 pm for a St. Nicholas Party and potluck supper. We will celebrate the tradition of St. Nicholas and Christmas with a Ukrainian flare. There will be crafts and activities for the kids. St Nicholas will make a special appearance. No Ukrainian celebration would be complete without caroling. We will carol in English and Ukrainian. All are welcome. Please bring a dish to share.
